Tai è cresciuto ed è ora uno studente universitario, vive da solo, ma è ancora incerto sul suo futuro. Gli otto ragazzi continuano ad aiutare le persone che hanno un Digimon come partner ma un giorno si verifica un fenomeno senza precedenti. I Digiprescelti scoprono che, crescendo, la relazione con il proprio Digimon giungerà al termine. Un conto alla rovescia si attiva sul loro Digivice e comprendono che più combattono con il loro partner, più velocemente i loro legami sono destinati a concludersi. Tai e Agumon sono di fronte a un bivio: combattere per aiutare chi è in pericolo o perdere il proprio Digimon? Dovranno prendere una decisione rapidamente e presto i “bambini prescelti” diventeranno adulti.
