盛捷的满心期待就这样被齐向前葬送了，气不过的盛捷大闹车间，搞得齐向前狼狈不堪当众下不来台，于德水不得不出面调解，狠狠批评了一番乱点鸳鸯谱的刘桂芹和“不着四六”的齐向前。深感“被坑”的赵多福更是大吐苦水，齐向前因为这件事弄得里外不是人，只能硬着头皮向盛捷道歉，但嫉恶如仇的盛捷始终不肯原谅他。大北厂新建厂，许多工人的孩子无人照看，马科长提议刘桂琴去临时托儿所帮忙，顺便挣点补助，实现经济独立，免得在家里被于德水看不起。 齐向前向师父解释自己拒绝盛捷的原因是忘不了自己在朝鲜战场上遇见的女演员，然而战争结束后这个人便音讯全无，齐向前都不知道她姓甚名谁，师父劝他不要不切实际，趁早另作打算。何厂长也给齐向前下达了命令——穿戴整齐去参加联谊晚会。联谊会在大北厂新建成的厂房举办，谁料演出第一个节目的人正是齐向前魂牵梦绕的人——白若雪。
